Your first visit

For your appointment

Once you have made contact with us you will be sent a link via email that allows you to fill in all relevant patient information details and upload your referral prior to your appointment on your patient portal.

In our practice a GP referral is required to see Dr Kylie Shaw and Dr Greg Macleod.

A referral from a GP or medical specialist is required to see a Sport and Exercise Physician as we are recognised as medical specialists by Medicare.

This means that although your physiotherapist or allied health practitioner can refer you to Dr Shaw and Dr Macleod, you will also be required to obtain a referral from your GP or other medical specialist prior to your appointment.

As medical specialists we have access to specific medicare item numbers which are dependant on patients being referred by their GP.  THIS IS A MEDICARE REQUIREMENT if you wish to claim a rebate for the consultation

We also value your GP referral as an essential transfer of your relevant medical background to us as specialists. This ensures we can provide optimal management of your musculoskeletal or medical condition related to exercise, which directly improves your health management and your health outcomes. This is facilitated by written detailed communication back to your GP.

GP referrals are valid for 12 months from the date of your visit. Other medical specialist referrals are valid for 3 months.

A GP referral is NOT required to see our SEM registrar Dr Martin Schutte. Your physio or allied health practitioner referral is all that is required.

We do not see Third Party or Workers Compensation claims.

For your Initial consultation

Fees are payable at the completion of the consultation and your Medicare claim can be submitted for reimbursement to the account you have recorded with Medicare.

We accept cash, cheques, EFTPOS and major credit cards (except American Express or Diners Club).
